why are there so many other threads in my skein that I have to cut before i can wind it?
the threads ensure that the yarn doesn't tangle (both during dyeing and during transport). i specifically decided to leave all the threads in the skein so that it can be wound as easily as possible. it doesn't look as good, but it makes the winding experience much more pleasant.

what happens to the dye when I wash it?
the yarns I send shouldn't bleed. i wash them out until no more color comes out. some colors, like intense red or pink, tend to release a small amount of residual color for a longer time. however, it shouldn't be more than a shimmer.
